Peer Review Process

INTEGRATED (Journal of Information Technology and Vocational Education) implemented a rigorous peer review mechanism to ensure that every published article meets the highest standards of academic integrity and scientific quality. The review process is conducted entirely online through our Open Journal System (OJS).

Initial Evaluation

Every submitted manuscript undergoes a preliminary screening by the Editorial Team. At this stage, the Editors assess the work for its alignment with the journal's focus and scope, basic technical soundness, originality, and English language proficiency. Manuscripts that do not meet these fundamental criteria, or those with significant grammatical issues, will be rejected immediately (desk rejection) to allow authors to submit elsewhere without delay. This initial decision is typically communicated within 2 weeks of submission.

Review Methodology

INTEGRATED employs a Double-Blind Peer Review process. In this system, the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are kept strictly confidential to ensure an objective and unbiased evaluation. Each manuscript that passes the initial screening is assigned to at least two (2) independent experts in the relevant field.

Reviewer Selection & Assessment

Reviewers are selected based on their specific expertise and research history. While we maintain an extensive database of international referees, we may also seek new experts to provide the most accurate assessment. Referees are tasked with evaluating the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and significance of the contribution.
  • Methodological rigor and ethical compliance.
  • Clarity of presentation and logical consistency.
  • Relevance of references and supporting data.

Duration & Decision Timeline

The duration of the review process depends largely on the availability and responsiveness of the referees. However, our standard timeline is as follows:

  • First Decision: Authors can expect to receive the first round of feedback within 4 weeks.
  • Maximum Processing Time: We strive to ensure the entire review cycle does not exceed 8 weeks.

If there are conflicting reports between reviewers, the Editor may seek a third opinion to reach a fair conclusion. The final decision to Accept, Request Revision, or Reject is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers' recommendations.

Final Authority

The Editorial Board holds the final authority over all publication decisions. Reviewers act as advisors, providing critical insights that help the Editors maintain the journal's reputation for excellence in Information Technology and Vocational Education research.
