The study investigated the effect of computer simulation on students’ achievement in tvet in colleges of education in Edo State. A quasi-experimental design was used for the study; the population consist of all the 58 NCE (II) students in the two Colleges of education in Edo State. Intact classes were assigned by balloting to either experimental or control group; and separately taught by their regular TVET lecturers who had earlier been trained for the purpose. All the groups were pre and post tested. TVET Achievement Test (TVETAT) and TVET Interest Inventory (TVETII) containing twenty items were for both were used as instruments for the study. Two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. Mean and standard deviation were used in answering the research questions while Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) was used in testing the hypotheses at .05 level of significance. Using Kuder Richardson – 21, the internal consistency was determined and yielded a coefficient of .76. The results showed that the use of computer simulation in teaching affects students’ achievement and interest in TVET. Also there was no significant interaction effect between the teaching method and gender on students’ achievement and interest in TVET. The study recommended among other things the incorporation of computer simulation in TVET text books, organization of workshop and seminars for teachers on the use of computer simulation approach in the teaching and learning of TVET in colleges of education in Edo State.
